Amore

Amore is the Italian noun for love. In everyday Italian, it refers to affection and attachment between people, particularly romantic love, but can also denote familial affection, friendship, or a general sense of care. The word appears frequently in Italian poetry, song, and popular speech and is used in figurative expressions such as “amore eterno” (eternal love) or “amore mio” (my love).

Amore derives from Latin amor, the Latin term for love, which in turn comes from Proto-Italic roots.

The concept of amore has been central in Italian literature, cinema, and music, and the word appears
