Alküüliragentide

Alküüliragentide, also known as alkylating agents, are chemical compounds that can transfer an alkyl group (a functional group consisting of an alkane with one hydrogen atom removed) to a molecule. This process is called alkylation. Alkylation is a fundamental reaction in organic chemistry and is widely used in various industrial and biological processes.

In organic synthesis, alkylating agents are employed to introduce alkyl chains into various molecules, altering their properties and reactivity. For example, alkylating alcohols yields ethers, and alkylating amines results in substituted amines.
