AlkylCNs

AlkylCNs, also known as alkyl cyanides or aliphatic nitriles, are a class of organic compounds characterized by the presence of a nitrile functional group (-C≡N) attached to an alkyl chain. The general formula for an alkylCN is R-C≡N, where R represents an alkyl group. These compounds are isomers of imines and can be synthesized through various chemical reactions.

The nitrile group is polar due to the electronegativity difference between carbon and nitrogen, leading to specific chemical properties.
