Alkoholimolekyyliä
Alkoholimolekyyliä is the Finnish term for an alcohol molecule. Alcohols are a class of organic compounds characterized by the presence of at least one hydroxyl functional group (-OH) attached to a saturated carbon atom. The simplest alcohol is methanol, with the chemical formula CH3OH. Ethanol, C2H5OH, is another common alcohol, famously known as the intoxicant found in alcoholic beverages.
The properties of alcohol molecules vary greatly depending on the length and structure of the carbon chain
Alcohols participate in a variety of chemical reactions. The hydroxyl group can be oxidized to form aldehydes,
