Algatömeg refers to a dense accumulation of algae, often forming visible mats or blooms on the surface of water bodies. This phenomenon can occur in various aquatic environments, including lakes, ponds, rivers, and oceans. The growth of algatömeg is typically fueled by an excess of nutrients, such as nitrogen and phosphorus, in the water. These nutrients can originate from sources like agricultural runoff, wastewater discharge, and atmospheric deposition.
