Aktinometriä
Aktinometriä is the Finnish term for actinometry, a method used to measure actinic flux. Actinic flux refers to the rate of photons passing through a unit area, or the intensity of radiation that can cause photochemical reactions. This is distinct from irradiance, which measures the energy per unit area per unit time. Actinometry is particularly relevant in fields like photochemistry, atmospheric science, and solar energy research, where understanding the intensity of light capable of initiating chemical changes is crucial.
The measurement itself is typically performed using an actinometer, a device designed to quantify actinic flux.
The applications of actinometry are diverse. In atmospheric studies, it helps determine the rate of ozone depletion
