Akterpiskers
Akterpiskers, also known as the Akterpisker Islands, are a group of small, uninhabited islands located in the North Sea, off the coast of the Netherlands. The islands are part of the Dutch province of Zeeland and are administered by the municipality of Goes. The name "Akterpiskers" is derived from the Dutch words "akter" meaning "afterdeck" or "stern," and "piskers" meaning "sandbank" or "shoal." The islands are characterized by their low-lying, sandy terrain and are surrounded by shallow waters, making them vulnerable to erosion and flooding.
The Akterpiskers are part of the larger Westerschelde estuary system, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The islands are not accessible to the public and are managed by the Dutch government to protect
