Akkumulátorkapacitás refers to the amount of electrical charge a battery can store and deliver. It is typically measured in ampere-hours (Ah) or milliampere-hours (mAh). A higher ampere-hour rating indicates a greater capacity, meaning the battery can supply a certain current for a longer period. For example, a 10 Ah battery can theoretically supply 1 ampere of current for 10 hours, or 2 amperes for 5 hours, and so on.

The capacity of an accumulator is not a fixed value and can be influenced by several factors. Temperature plays a significant role; at lower temperatures, the effective capacity often decreases. The age and condition of the battery also affect its capacity. Over time, through repeated charge and discharge cycles, the internal resistance of the battery increases, and the chemical components can degrade, leading to a reduced ability to store and deliver charge.

When comparing batteries, ampere-hours provide a useful metric for understanding how long a device might run on a single charge. However, it's important to consider the device's power consumption. A device that draws more current will deplete a battery with a given capacity faster than a device with lower power requirements. For rechargeable batteries, capacity is often stated as the initial capacity, and manufacturers may provide expected capacity retention over the battery's lifespan.
