AichachFriedberg

Aichach-Friedberg is a district (Tz LLiea) in the state of Bavaria in the southwest of Germany. It is located about 30 km northeast of the city of Augsburg. The district has a population of about 110,000 people and covers an area of around 605 km².

The district was formed on July 1, 1972, by merging the former districts of Aichach and Friedberg. The administrative centre of the district is the town of Aichach. Aichach-Friedberg is characterized by a predominantly agricultural landscape, with numerous lakes, woods, and wetlands providing a habitat for a wide variety of wildlife.

Aichach-Friedberg has a strong economy, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, services, and tourism. The district has a well-developed infrastructure, including a good road network and public transportation system.

The district has a diverse cultural scene, with numerous museums, cultural venues, and festivals throughout the year. The regional history and tradition are preserved and presented in many of these cultural establishments. Aichach-Friedberg is also known for its natural attractions, including the Danube-Iller-Lech Nature Park and Lake Friedberger.

The district of Aichach-Friedberg is comprised of 19 communities (Gemdigen), including the towns of Aichach, Friedberg, Kissing, Dasing, and Petershausen. Rock painting and prehistoric graves are visible, reflecting a human presence dating back to the Upper Paleolithic.
