Afvalhout
Afvalhout is the Dutch term for wood waste, referring to discarded or surplus wood from construction, demolition, forestry, and wood-processing activities. It represents a stream of recyclable material managed separately from other waste streams to maximize reuse and energy recovery. Depending on origin and treatment, afvalhout can be composed of untreated softwoods and hardwoods, as well as engineered wood products such as particleboard and fiberboard. Hazardous wood, for example treated with certain preservatives or coated with heavy paints, may require special handling and disposal, and is typically excluded from standard afvalhout streams.
