Adjustors
Adjustors, also known as claims adjusters or insurance adjusters, are professionals who investigate insurance claims. Their primary role is to determine the extent of an insurance company's liability for a loss and to negotiate a settlement with the claimant. When a policyholder files a claim, an adjustor is assigned to the case to assess the damage or loss. This typically involves visiting the site of the damage, interviewing the claimant and witnesses, reviewing police reports or other relevant documentation, and estimating the cost of repairs or replacement.
Adjustors work for insurance companies, independent adjusting firms, or as public adjusters who represent the policyholder.
