Adjectiveroot

Adjectiveroot is a term used in linguistic morphology to refer to the base morpheme or stem that serves as the semantic core for adjectival derivation. It is the part of a word from which adjectives are built, often through derivational processes such as affixation or internal change. The adjectiveroot may be a free root, a bound morpheme, or a more complex stem that participates in multiple derivations across related adjectives.
