Adenohypofysistäs is a Swedish term referring to a condition affecting the adenohypophysis, which is the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. This gland, located at the base of the brain, plays a crucial role in regulating various bodily functions through the production and secretion of hormones. Conditions affecting the adenohypophysis can lead to imbalances in hormone levels, resulting in a range of clinical symptoms.

Disorders of the adenohypophysis can manifest as either hypofunction (underproduction of hormones) or hyperfunction (overproduction of hormones).
