Adatmodelleket

Adatmodelleket is a design movement that emerged in Hungary in the 1950s and 1960s. The term "adat" is Hungarian for "data," and "modelleket" means "models." This movement was characterized by the use of everyday objects as models or prototypes for design, rather than relying solely on technical drawings and specifications.

Proponents of the Adatmodelleket movement believed that by creating temporary, non-permanent prototypes, designers could more effectively test and refine their designs. This approach allowed for increased creativity and experimentation, as well as a focus on the functional and ergonomic aspects of design.

Adatmodelleket was heavily influenced by the principles of Hungarian constructivism, which emphasized the importance of function and the dematerialization of form. This philosophy was reflected in the use of simple, repetitive forms and the emphasis on the relationships between objects and their users.

Designs produced during the Adatmodelleket movement were often functional and minimalist, reflecting the values of Hungarian constructivism. They frequently featured removable parts, assemblage, and reconfigurable components, which allowed for greater flexibility and user interaction.
