Abugidaer

Abugidaer is a term used to describe a person who actively participates in or promotes the use of abugidas. Abugidas, also known as alphasyllabaries, are a type of writing system in which consonant-vowel sequences are written as a unit. Each unit consists of a consonant base and a vowel that is inherent in the consonant. Diacritics or other modifications are then used to change the inherent vowel to a different one. This system is distinct from alphabets, where vowels and consonants are typically represented by separate letters, and syllabaries, where each symbol represents a full syllable. Abugidaer individuals might be linguists, epigraphers, educators, or simply enthusiasts of writing systems who are interested in the development, study, and application of abugida scripts. They may engage in research, create educational materials, or advocate for the preservation and adoption of abugida-based writing systems used by various languages around the world, such as those found in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
