ASPPB

The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) is a nonprofit organization that brings together state and provincial psychology licensing boards in the United States and Canada. Its mission is to facilitate a consistent and efficient licensure process across jurisdictions by coordinating standards, procedures, and resources used by boards that regulate the practice of psychology.

ASPPB’s primary function is to administer the Examination for the Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) on behalf of member boards. The EPPP is a standardized national examination used by licensing boards to assess a candidate’s foundational knowledge required for independent practice. In addition to examination administration, ASPPB provides information, guidelines, and tools for licensure candidates and boards, supports mobility and reciprocity among jurisdictions, and maintains related materials such as the EPPP Candidate Handbook and testing schedules.

The organization consists of member psychology licensing boards and affiliates, governed by a national office and steering bodies that set policy, coordinate examinations, and oversee licensure initiatives. Through its activities, ASPPB aims to promote consistency, integrity, and public protection in psychology licensure while helping boards manage processes efficiently.
