ALVnumero is a standardized identifier used within ALV information systems to uniquely identify records, assets, or transactions. It combines alphanumeric characters to produce a compact, unique code that can be used across modules such as inventory, procurement, and auditing. The exact format varies by organization, but common designs include a prefix that indicates the subsystem (for example ALV or a department code), a date or sequence segment, and a check digit.

In practice, ALVnumero supports quick cross-referencing and automated validation. It may be generated by the ALV system upon creation of a new item, with validation rules ensuring uniqueness and correct length. Some implementations apply a checksum (Luhn or similar) to detect entry errors. ALVnumero can be stored in databases and embedded in barcodes or RFID tags to facilitate scanning.
