96181
96181 is a minor planet in the asteroid belt, located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. It was discovered on September 24, 1973, by the Soviet astronomer Lyudmila Chernykh at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in Nauchnyj, Ukraine. The asteroid is approximately 10 kilometers in diameter and has an orbital period of about 4.3 years. It orbits the Sun at an average distance of 2.6 astronomical units (AU), with an eccentricity of 0.17 and an inclination of 11.5 degrees relative to the ecliptic plane. The spectral type of 96181 is unknown, but it is likely a C-type asteroid, which are carbonaceous and typically found in the outer regions of the asteroid belt. The asteroid's rotation period is approximately 5.5 hours. As of now, no moons have been discovered orbiting 96181.
