64card

64card refers to a type of memory card used with the Nintendo 64 video game console. These cards, officially known as the Controller Pak, were essential for saving game progress in many N64 titles. While the console itself had limited internal memory for saves, the Controller Pak provided a compact and portable solution for players to store their game data.

The Controller Pak plugged into a dedicated slot on the back of the Nintendo 64 controller. It featured a small amount of non-volatile memory, typically 256 kilobits (32 kilobytes), which was sufficient for storing save files, character data, and other game-specific information. Without a Controller Pak, many games would not allow players to save their progress, effectively limiting gameplay sessions to single sittings.
