4DPolytopien

4DPolytopien refers to a mathematical concept representing four-dimensional generalizations of polygons (2D) and polyhedra (3D). Just as a polygon is a closed shape in two dimensions defined by line segments, and a polyhedron is a closed solid in three dimensions defined by planar faces, a 4D polytop is a closed object in four dimensions bounded by three-dimensional "cells." These cells are themselves polyhedra. The study of 4D polytopien falls within the realm of geometry, specifically higher-dimensional geometry.

The simplest 4D polytop is the hypercube, also known as the tesseract, which is the four-dimensional analogue of a cube. It is bounded by eight cubic cells. Other notable 4D polytopien include the 5-cell (or pentachoron), a simplex formed by five points, and the 16-cell, an orthogonal cross-polytope. These shapes can be visualized through projections into three or two dimensions, similar to how we represent 3D objects on a 2D surface. Their properties, such as the number of vertices, edges, faces, and cells, are studied using combinatorial and topological methods.
