It was discovered on 15 January 2001 by the LINEAR survey at the Lincoln Laboratory's Experimental Test Site in Socorro, New Mexico, and received the provisional designation 2001 AB123. Following further observations that established a reliable orbit, the Minor Planet Center assigned it the permanent number 32065 on 12 March 2002.
