32011 is a minor planet in the asteroid belt, located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. It was discovered on February 23, 1997, by the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) project. The asteroid is approximately 2.4 kilometers in diameter and has an orbital period of about 3.4 years. Its orbit is moderately inclined to the ecliptic plane, with an inclination of 10.5 degrees. The asteroid's spectral type is X, which indicates that it has a primitive composition, likely consisting of carbonaceous material. 32011 is named after the American astronomer and science educator Neil deGrasse Tyson. The naming citation was published by the Minor Planet Center on March 2, 2001 (M.P.C. 41676).
