1x1080, sometimes referred to as 1080p, is a common high-definition video resolution. It represents a display resolution of 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels tall. This results in a total of approximately 2 million pixels, offering a significantly sharper and more detailed image compared to standard definition resolutions like 480p or 720p.

The "1080" in 1x1080 refers to the number of vertical pixels. The "p" stands for progressive scan, meaning that each frame is displayed in its entirety, line by line, from top to bottom. This is in contrast to interlaced scan (often denoted by "i" as in 1080i), where alternating lines are displayed in separate fields, which can sometimes lead to motion artifacts.

1080p became a widely adopted standard for high-definition television broadcasting, Blu-ray discs, and online video streaming services due to its balance of image quality and bandwidth requirements. It offers a substantial improvement in visual fidelity, making it suitable for a wide range of content, from movies and television shows to video games and video conferencing. While higher resolutions like 4K (2160p) are now prevalent, 1080p remains a relevant and widely used standard.
