118002
118002 is a minor planet in the outer region of the asteroid belt, approximately 10 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 14 October 1999, by astronomers of the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research at the Lincoln Laboratory's ETS near Socorro, New Mexico. The Minor Planet Center designates it as 1999 TY246. It orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.7–3.4 AU once every 5 years and 4 months (1,942 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.12 and an inclination of 11° with respect to the ecliptic. The first precovery was taken at Palomar Observatory in 1954, extending the body's observation arc by 45 years prior to its official discovery observation.
