államosított is a Hungarian adjective meaning "nationalized" or "taken into state ownership." It is the past participle of the verb államosít and is used to describe property, enterprises, or other assets that have been transferred from private or non-state ownership to state control through legal acts or decrees. The term is primarily used in historical, economic, and political contexts.

In Hungary, widespread nationalization occurred after World War II under the postwar communist regime. Legislation in the late 1940s and early 1950s transferred ownership of banks, heavy industry, energy infrastructure, transport networks, and other strategic assets into state hands. The process was part of building a planned socialist economy and consolidating state authority. Agricultural land was reshaped through reform and collective organization as well, with ownership structures changing accordingly. Nationalization was framed as eliminating private ownership of the means of production and replacing it with state ownership.

Following the democratic transition in 1989–1990, many nationalized enterprises underwent privatization or restructuring.
