Üzemanyag-elállítás refers to the process of introducing fuel into an internal combustion engine. This fundamental step is crucial for the engine's operation, as it combines with air to create a combustible mixture. The method of üzemanyag-elállítás varies significantly depending on the engine type and its design.

In older or simpler engines, a carburetor is often used. The carburetor mixes air and fuel in a precisely controlled ratio before it enters the combustion chamber. This process relies on the Venturi effect, where the flow of air creates a vacuum that draws fuel into the airstream.

Modern engines predominantly utilize fuel injection systems. These systems are more precise and efficient, offering better control over fuel delivery and combustion. There are several types of fuel injection, including port injection, where fuel is sprayed into the intake manifold just before the intake valve, and direct injection, where fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion chamber. Direct injection allows for even finer control and can improve fuel economy and power output.
