Összhangolt

Összhangolt is a Hungarian adjective meaning brought into accord or harmonized. It derives from the noun összhang (harmony, concord) with the past participle suffix -olt, and is used to describe elements that are arranged to form harmony or concord.

In musical contexts, összhangolt refers to parts—such as voices, instrumental lines, or chords—that are prepared to be in consonant relationships within a piece, ensuring that the overall texture is in coherent harmonic relation to the key and to each other. The term can be found in older Hungarian pedagogy and criticism to describe choral or ensemble writing in which the voices move with aligned rhythm and harmonic fit.

In non-musical contexts, the word may be used metaphorically to describe things that are brought into harmony, such as plans, designs, or policies that are aligned with one another. In contemporary Hungarian usage, however, more common expressions for similar meanings include harmonizált or összhangban lévő. Összhangolt appears most often in historical, formal, or stylistic registers and may be encountered in scholarly writings on music education or literary prose.
