Õigeid

Õigeid is the plural partitive form of the Estonian adjective õige, meaning "correct" or "true." In Estonian grammar, adjectives decline for number and case, with the base form õige used in the singular and the plural nominative form õiged. The plural partitive form, used when the modified noun is in the partitive case and refers to multiple items, is õigeid. This form appears in sentences where the object is indefinite or only partially counted.

Usage examples illustrate its function. Ma otsisin õigeid vastuseid. (I was looking for the correct answers.) Ta esitas õigeid näiteid. (He/she presented correct examples.) Me vajame õigeid andmeid. (We need correct data.) In each case, õigeid describes a plural noun in the partitive, signaling that the speaker refers to some or all of the correct items without asserting a definite total.

Notes on form and capitalization. Õigeid is generally written in lowercase, as with most Estonian adjectives. Capitalization would occur only if the word begins a sentence or is used in a title or proper noun context, in which case it would appear as Õigeid. The word õige, from which õigeid is derived, remains the standard lexical entry; õigeid is its inflected plural partitive form used in ordinary prose.
