Érbeültetés

Érbeültetés, also known as vascular grafting or bypass surgery, is a medical procedure used to restore blood flow to a part of the body where it has been blocked or narrowed. This typically occurs due to atherosclerosis, a condition where plaque builds up inside the arteries. The procedure involves using a section of a healthy blood vessel, either from another part of the patient's body (autograft) or from a donor (allograft), or a synthetic tube, to create a new pathway for blood to flow around the obstruction.

The harvested blood vessel or synthetic graft is surgically attached to the artery above and below the blockage. This bypasses the narrowed or occluded segment, allowing blood to reach the affected area, such as the heart, legs, or brain. Common indications for érbeültetés include coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, and cerebrovascular disease. The success of the procedure depends on various factors, including the patient's overall health, the location and severity of the blockage, and the skill of the surgical team.
