ögonartärens
Ögonartärerna, also known as the ophthalmic arteries, are a pair of small arteries that branch off from the internal carotid arteries. They are the primary blood supply to the eye and its surrounding structures. Each ögonartär enters the orbit through the optic canal, accompanying the optic nerve.
Inside the orbit, the ögonartären ramifies into numerous branches that supply vital components of the eye.
Disruptions to the blood flow in the ögonartärerna or their branches can lead to serious visual impairments.
