Other important punctuation marks include quotation marks (" ") or (' ') to indicate direct speech or quotations, and apostrophes (') to show possession or to denote the omission of letters in contractions. Hyphens (-) are used to join words, while dashes (– or —) are used for parenthetical expressions or to indicate a break in thought. Parentheses (()) are used to enclose supplementary information that is not essential to the main meaning of the sentence. Proper use of these symbols is crucial for clear and effective written communication.
