Împuternicie

Împuternicie is a Romanian legal term that translates to "empowerment" or "authorization." It refers to the act of granting someone the power or authority to act on behalf of another person or entity. This authorization is typically formalized through a legal document, such as a power of attorney or a mandate. The person granting the authority is known as the principal (împuternicit) and the person receiving the authority is known as the agent or representative (mandatar).

The scope of the împuternicie can vary greatly depending on the specific agreement. It can be general, granting broad powers to the agent, or specific, limiting the agent's authority to a particular transaction or set of actions. Common examples include authorizing someone to manage financial affairs, represent a company in legal matters, or make medical decisions.

For an împuternicie to be legally valid, it must be clear, unambiguous, and often requires specific formalities, such as notarization, depending on the jurisdiction and the nature of the powers granted.
