Äänivärähtelyt, often translated as sound vibrations, are the fundamental basis of all sound. When an object vibrates, it disturbs the surrounding medium, typically air, causing the particles in that medium to compress and expand. This disturbance propagates outwards as a wave, which our ears perceive as sound. The speed at which these vibrations occur is known as frequency, measured in Hertz (Hz), and determines the pitch of the sound. Higher frequencies correspond to higher pitches, while lower frequencies produce lower pitches.
