Zrýchovanie is a Slovak term that translates to acceleration in English. It refers to the rate at which an object's velocity changes over time. Therefore, acceleration occurs when either the speed of an object increases or decreases, or when its direction of motion changes, or both.

This unit signifies the change in velocity (in meters per second) that occurs in one second.
