Väljaandevabadus refers to the freedom of publication in Estonian. In Estonia, väljaandevabadus is protected by the Constitution, which upholds the inviolability of freedom of speech and the press. While this freedom is broad, it is not absolute. However, such restrictions must be prescribed by law, necessary in a democratic society, and proportionate to the legitimate aim pursued.
