videourodinâmica
Videourodinâmica is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate bladder and urethral function. It combines urodynamic testing with simultaneous videourography, allowing physicians to visualize the lower urinary tract during the filling and voiding phases. The procedure involves inserting a small catheter into the bladder to fill it with a contrast solution, which is visible on X-ray. Another catheter may be placed in the rectum to measure abdominal pressure. As the bladder fills, X-ray images are taken, and the patient is asked to void. This allows for the assessment of bladder capacity, pressure during filling and voiding, the effectiveness of bladder contraction, and any abnormalities in bladder shape or position. Videourodinâmica is particularly useful in diagnosing complex lower urinary tract dysfunction, such as neurogenic bladder, severe voiding dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infections, and urinary incontinence in specific patient populations. It provides detailed information about both the functional and anatomical aspects of the lower urinary tract, aiding in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
