vegyületté
Vegyületté is a term used in Hungarian to describe a compound, specifically a chemical compound. A chemical compound is a substance formed when two or more chemical elements are chemically bonded together in a fixed ratio. These elements cannot be separated by physical means, such as filtration or distillation, but require a chemical reaction to break the bonds. The properties of a compound are generally different from those of the individual elements that make it up. For instance, water (H2O) is a compound formed from hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2), both of which are gases at room temperature. However, water is a liquid at room temperature and has vastly different chemical and physical properties. The smallest unit of a compound that retains the chemical properties of that compound is called a molecule. Compounds are represented by chemical formulas, which indicate the types of atoms present and the number of each type in one molecule. Examples of common compounds include salt (sodium chloride, NaCl), sugar (sucrose, C12H22O11), and carbon dioxide (CO2). The study of compounds and their interactions is a fundamental aspect of chemistry.
