tumban
Tumban is a traditional Indonesian musical instrument, primarily used in the Minangkabau region of West Sumatra. It is a type of xylophone, consisting of a wooden frame with a series of wooden bars of varying lengths, each tuned to a specific pitch. The bars are struck with mallets to produce sound. Tumban is often used in traditional Minangkabau music, such as in the performance of the "Sasando" dance, and is also used in contemporary music. The instrument is known for its bright, clear sound and is an important part of the cultural heritage of the Minangkabau people.
