Transfinit is a term that refers to concepts and quantities that are larger than any finite number. It is most famously associated with the work of Georg Cantor, a mathematician who developed the theory of transfinite numbers in the late 19th century.

Cantor's groundbreaking work established that there are different sizes of infinity. For example, the infinity of integers (1, 2, 3, ...) is smaller than the infinity of real numbers (all numbers on the number line, including fractions and irrational numbers).
