Transakcji is the genitive form of the Polish noun transakcja and is used in legal, financial, and everyday language to refer to a specific transaction or to transactions in general. The term appears in phrases such as wartość transakcji (value of a transaction), koszty transakcji (transaction costs), and historia transakcji (transaction history).

In economics and commerce, a transaction denotes an exchange between two or more parties that results in the transfer of value, such as money, goods, or services, and is typically governed by a contract, invoice, or receipt. Core elements include the parties involved, an offer and acceptance, consideration, and the transfer or delivery of goods or services followed by settlement.

Transactions vary by context and can be financial (payments, loans, investments), commercial (sales of goods or services), or data-related (recorded changes in databases). They may be domestic or cross-border, one-off or recurring, and can involve intermediaries, warranties, or terms of delivery and risk transfer.

In computing, a transaction is a unit of work that must be completed as a whole or not at all. It is governed by principles such as Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation and Durability (ACID). In distributed systems, transactions may require coordination protocols like two-phase commit to ensure consistency across multiple systems.
