Természettudományágak, or natural sciences, encompass the disciplines that study the natural world. These fields aim to discover, understand, and explain the phenomena of the universe through observation, experimentation, and logical reasoning. They are characterized by their reliance on empirical evidence and the scientific method.

The natural sciences are broadly categorized into several major branches. Physical sciences focus on non-living matter and energy. This includes physics, which explores fundamental constituents of the universe, forces, and their effects; chemistry, which studies the composition, structure, properties, and reactions of matter; astronomy, concerned with celestial objects and phenomena; and earth sciences, encompassing geology, meteorology, oceanography, and environmental science, which investigate the planet Earth and its processes.

Biological sciences, or life sciences, study living organisms. Biology is the overarching discipline, with numerous sub-disciplines such as zoology (study of animals), botany (study of plants), microbiology (study of microorganisms), genetics (study of heredity), and ecology (study of interactions between organisms and their environment).

These disciplines are interconnected and often overlap. For instance, biochemistry bridges chemistry and biology, while astrophysics combines physics and astronomy. The pursuit of knowledge within the natural sciences has led to significant advancements in technology, medicine, and our understanding of our place in the cosmos.
