Säteilytyypistä refers to the classification of radiation. Radiation can be broadly categorized into two main types: ionizing and non-ionizing. Ionizing radiation possesses enough energy to remove electrons from atoms and molecules, a process known as ionization. This can damage living tissues and materials. Examples of ionizing radiation include alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays, and X-rays. Alpha and beta particles are forms of particulate radiation, meaning they consist of tiny subatomic particles. Gamma rays and X-rays are electromagnetic radiation.
Non-ionizing radiation, on the other hand, does not have enough energy to ionize atoms. While it can
