Színcsatornából is a Hungarian term that translates to "color channel" in English. In digital imaging and graphics, a color channel refers to a single component of a color model. Most color models, such as RGB (Red, Green, Blue) or CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), represent a color by combining different intensities of primary colors. Each of these primary colors, or their equivalents in other color models, constitutes a separate color channel.

For instance, in an RGB image, each pixel's color is defined by the combined values of its red, green, and blue components. Therefore, an RGB image technically has three color channels: a red channel, a green channel, and a blue channel. When you view an RGB image, your display or software combines the information from these three channels to render the final color.
