systólíski
Systólíski refers to the systolic phase of the cardiac cycle. This is the period when the heart muscle contracts to pump blood out of the chambers. Specifically, it refers to the contraction of the ventricles, the lower chambers of the heart. During ventricular systole, the mitral and tricuspid valves (between the atria and ventricles) close, preventing backflow into the atria, and the aortic and pulmonary valves (leading to the arteries) open, allowing blood to be ejected into the aorta and pulmonary artery, respectively. The pressure generated during systole is what drives blood circulation throughout the body and to the lungs. Systolic blood pressure is the measurement taken during this contraction phase and is the higher number in a blood pressure reading. This contraction is a crucial part of maintaining blood flow and oxygenation of tissues.
