Symmetrieën, in its plural form, refers to the existence of multiple instances of symmetry within an object or a system. Symmetry itself is a property of an object where it appears unchanged under certain transformations, such as reflection, rotation, or translation. When an object possesses more than one of these types of symmetry, or multiple instances of the same type of symmetry, we speak of symmetrieën.
For example, a square exhibits multiple symmetrieën. It has four rotational symmetries (0, 90, 180, and 270
