suhdeparien
Suhdeparien, or relation pairs, are the fundamental elements of a relation in mathematics and related fields. In Finnish usage, a suhdepari is an ordered pair (a, b) that belongs to a relation R relating elements from two sets A and B, with R ⊆ A × B. The two components are typically described as the first and second element; A is the domain, B the codomain. The collection of all suhdeparit forms the relation itself. When the relation is defined on a single set S (R ⊆ S × S), suhdeparien describe connections among elements of S, such as an ordering, equivalence, or reachability.
Functions are a special kind of relation: each a ∈ A is associated with exactly one b ∈
In databases and information systems, relations store pairs of related entities; a foreign-key relationship can be
Example: a relation R on S = {a, b, c} with R = {(a, b), (b, c)} contains two
