A strømningssensor, or flow sensor, is a device used to measure the rate at which a fluid (liquid or gas) is moving. There are several types of strømningssensorer, each utilizing different physical principles for measurement. Turbine flow sensors use a rotor that spins at a speed proportional to the fluid velocity. Electromagnetic flow sensors rely on Faraday's law of induction, generating a voltage in response to a conductive fluid moving through a magnetic field. Ultrasonic flow sensors employ sound waves to measure flow velocity. Other common types include vortex, paddlewheel, and variable area flow meters.
