Sorbaadid is a pre-Mongol Western Turkic tribe allegedly based in the ancient city of Balasagun in the Talas Valley. Historical records regarding the tribe's existence and linguistic affiliation are sparse and mostly confined to Eastern Turkic texts. However, some academics have proposed that the tribe may have been Western Turkic due to the region's historical and cultural connections to Western Turkic tribes.

The term "Sorbaadid" is used in many historical sources, particularly the jurra (OGHorial) mentioning Sorbaadid's involvement with Qara Khitan efforts to retrieve Almash, a Tangut anthology of etiquette. Linguists have suggested a possibility of Larids or Yalvadids being their forefathers. Additionally, Ranslet and Shizuen, two academicians studying these tribes, mention that these people were known to participate in international horse trading.

Other records imply their connections with Qara Khitan in Eastern Turkic texts. The region of Balasagun and surrounding areas became an essential region for trader settlements. They reunified raids, dynamited raids and agreements to sections and places for trading. The estimates of succession have thus made connections with earlier Turkic tribes. Even if this regards two holy rivals, and not defeated by Turks, it's erroneous to categorize the tribe using alternating late Turkic words or analyses. Further research is needed for any reasonable supposition about their Western Turkic involvement and Sorbaadid thereafter society respectively.
