smukt

Smukt is a Danish word meaning "beautiful" or "beautifully." In modern Danish it functions as both the neuter singular form of the adjective smuk and as an adverb meaning "beautifully" or "in a beautiful way."

As a predicative adjective, it appears after a form of the verb be: Det er smukt. The corresponding inflected forms for other genders and numbers are smuk (en smuk by), smukt (et smukt hus), and smukke (smukke steder).

As an adverb, smukt modifies verbs: Hun sang smukt; man kunne høre, at det var smukt. Smukt can also be used as an exclamation to praise something, for example Smukt! in more formal or ceremonial contexts.
