silikaadiühikud
Silikaadiühikud, also known as silicate structural units, are the fundamental building blocks of silicate minerals, which constitute the vast majority of the Earth's crust. These units are based on the silicon-oxygen tetrahedron, a structure where a central silicon atom is bonded to four oxygen atoms. The formula for this basic unit is SiO4.
The way these tetrahedra are linked together determines the structure and properties of different silicate minerals.
